Badger women's hockey team starts Frozen Four journey tonight

March 20, 2008 By WRN Contributor

Mark Johnson The 2-time defending NCAA women's Frozen Four champion Wisconsin Badgers shoot for their 3rd straight title when they face top ranked Harvard in the semifinals in Duluth, Minnesota tonight.

It's hard to believe, but the Badgers are actually underdogs in this field.  The Badgers are 28-8-3 and will face a Harvard team that is 32-1.

New Hampshire (33-3-1) will take on third-seeded Minnesota-Duluth (32-4-1).  The winners face off in the finals on Saturday.

Badger coach Mark Johnson (pictured) said their record might not be as good, but they're optimistic none-the-less.

The Badgers beat Minnesota-Duluth in last years Frozen Four Championship game in Lake Placid, N.Y.
