Hockey Badgers face North Dakota in NCAA Regional final

March 30, 2008 By WRN Contributor

The Wisconsin Badgers scored four third-period goals to knock off the 2nd seeded Denver Pioneers 6-2 on Saturday night in the NCAA Midwest Regional at the Kohl Center.

Michael Davies tallied two goals and an assist to set up a Regional Final game against North Dakota Sunday night.

Wisconsin (16-16-7) is the fourth team in history to enter the tournament with a sub-.500 record.  But it's the Badgers that moved within one win of a trip to the Frozen Four, ironically in Denver.  The Pioneers finished the season 26-14-1, won't get to participate in the Frozen Four tournament on their home ice.
