Marquette joins WNIT field

March 18, 2008 By WRN Contributor

The Marquette Golden Eagles didn't receive an NCAA at large selection, but the Golden Eagles did get a guaranteed birth in the WNIT.

Eight teams from the Big East were selected to the NCAA Field.  Marquette was next in line, which gave them an automatic spot in the WNIT field.

The Golden Eagles will get a first round bye.  Then Monday, they'll play the winner of Thursday's game between Creighton and South Dakota State.

The Golden Eagles are hoping to host that game, but the site is yet to be determined.
