Marquettte Women Advance

The Marquette Golden Eagle women's basketball team advanced to the quarterfinals of the WNIT with a 72-64 win over Illinois in Milwaukee last night.  The Golden Eagles jumped out to a 16-4 lead but trailed at the half 36-31 when the Illini went on a 14-0 run.  Krystal Ellis led the way with 25 for Marquette.

The Golden Eagles improve to 18-14 on the season with the win while Illinos' season ends at 20-15.  Marquette will head to Lexington for a Sunday matchup with Kentucky in the WNIT Quarterfinals.
