Packers gain draft pick with compensatory choice

March 31, 2008 By WRN Contributor

A total of 32 compensatory choices in the 2008 NFL Draft have been awarded to 15 teams.

The Green Bay Packers will receive an extra fourth round selection, the 37th pick of the round, #135 overall.  It's the last of 5 compensatory picks handed out in the 4th round.

Under terms of the NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement, a team losing more or better compensatory free agents than it acquires in a year is eligible to receive compensatory draft picks.

The Packers lost free agents Ahman Green and David Martin and signed only Frank Walker, who has since left the Packers in free agency.
