UW-Milwaukee falls in Horizon League semifinals

March 14, 2008 By WRN Contributor

The UW-Milwaukee Panthers narrowly missed gaining a spot in the women's Horizon League Championship game, falling to Wright State 57-55 in the semifinals at the Kress Events Center in Green Bay.

Menasha, Wis. native Traci Edwards poured in 25 points for the Panthers but was Milwaukee's only player to score in double figures.  The Horizon League player of the year hit 7-11 FG's and all 11 of her free throws, but also turned it over 7 times.

Milwaukee finishes with a 17-14 record.  Wright State is 16-15 and will move into Saturday's championship game against the winner of the second semifinal between host Green Bay and Cleveland State.
