Brewers offensive funk continues

April 25, 2008 By WRN Contributor

Pat Burrell's two-out, two-run double broke a 1-1 tie in the eighth and the Philadelphia Phillies held on for a 3-1 win over the Milwaukee Brewers .  The Phillies earned a split of the 2-game series.

Burrell's game winner came off of Brewers reliever David Riske on an 0-2 pitch.

Phillies reliever Tom Gordon picked up the win (1-2), pitching out of a bases loaded jam in the 7th.

Ryan Braun plated the Brewers only run with an RBI single in the 3rd.

Jeff Suppan allowed just one run in 7 innings of work and gets a no decision.

The Brewers are back home for the weekend, hosting the Florida Marlins in a three-game series starting tonight.
