Dad charged in death of infants

April 16, 2008 By WRN Contributor

The father of 5-week-old twins found dead in his Baraboo home has been criminally charged with killing them. A complaint filed Wednesday in Sauk County Court charges 45 year-old David R. Yates with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide in the deaths of twins Savannah and Tyler Yates. The complaint says the infants suffered blunt force trauma and other injuries.

Baraboo police found the bodies at Yates’ home Sunday, after being called by the twins’ mother. She had gone to the home to pick up the children and no one responded. The babies had been at the home since Friday. The officers who entered the home found Yates in bed and then found the babies dead underneath it.
