Governor Jim Doyle is optimistic about winning federal approval for expansion of BadgerCare Plus . Low income people who don't have children would be covered under BadgerCare Plus, if Governor Doyle has his way. Doyle was in Washington today lobbying for federal approval of what Doyle describes as a "bare bones" program. "This will not be Cadillac coverage, but it will be basic coverage for people in this income group." Doyle was in Washington today to meet with Health Secretary Mike Leavitt about a federal waiver for the program. Doyle says 81,000 people would be covered if the feds give their okay.
