The Pledge of Allegiance in Spanish raises a red flag for some veterans. Al Decker of Edgerton, who is upset that the high school Spanish club recited the Pledge of Allegiance for the entire school. "I'm a military veteran, and I believe that the Pledge of Allegiance was . . written in English, and I believe that's the way it should be," said Decker. "Any other way is unpatriotic." Decker and others with his American Legion group in Rock County plan on addressing the school board on the subject next week. The Spanish club at Edgerton High School recited the pledge over the school's public address system. The district superintendent says the students did nothing wrong, and the practice will continue.
