Marquette to introduce Williams as new coach today

April 8, 2008 By WRN Contributor

Marquette University will introduce assistant coach Brent "Buzz" Williams as their new head coach today, replacing Tom Crean who left for the head job at Indiana.

Williams led Marquette's recruiting efforts as an assistant to Crean last season.  Williams talent as a recruiter and his connection with the program have been seen as strengths that could calm some of the incoming recruits who might be wavering on their commitment to Marquette with Crean's departure.

Crean went 190-96 in his 9-seasons at Marquette.
