NFL attempting to pick up the pace

April 25, 2008 By WRN Contributor

Ted Thompson Green Bay Packers General Manager Ted Thompson said the switch from 15 minutes between first-round selections to 10 shouldn't hinder any deals.

The NFL is picking up the pace in this draft.  They're decreasing the time between 2nd round picks from 10 minutes to 7 minutes.  Teams drafting in rounds three through seven will have five minutes to make their selection.

Thompson said he expects to hear from potential trade partners a pick or two earlier with the time change.
