Corporate contributions for political or lobbying purposes is not tax deductible. State Rep. Mark Pocan raised concerns about the funding source for third party issue ads, in the wake of the just ended state Supreme Court election. In a letter to Pocan, state Revenue Secretary Roger Ervin said auditors check corporate tax returns to assure businesses do not deduct political contributions to groups that run third-party ads.
