Tavern League opposes sobriety checkpoints

There's a push for sobriety checkpoints in Wisconsin by Mothers Against Drunk Driving , but the Tavern League of Wisconsin is vowing to fight the plan. "I think we can have tough laws on durnk driving," said Stenger. "But to give that kind of power to law enorcement . . would be a problem." Wisconsin is one of eleven states to ban the checkpoints, but Stenger thinks most people would find them objectionable.
