The Draft is flying along

April 26, 2008 By WRN Contributor

One hour and 15 minutes into the  NFL  Draft and we already have 10 picks and a couple of trades made.

Oakland took Arkansas RB Darren McFadden with the 4th pick.  Kansas City followed by taking DT Glenn Dorsey from LSU.  With the 6th pick, the New York Jets took Vernan Gholston, a defensive end from Ohio State.

With the 7th pick came the first trade.  New England switched spots with New Orleans moving up from the 10th spot.  The Saints used that pick to take DT Sedrick Ellis, the defensive tackle from USC.

Jacksonville moved into the 8th spot, trading up with Baltimore.  To move down to the 26th spot, Baltimore gained two 3rd's and a 4th round pick from the Jaguars.  Jacksonville used that 8th selection to pick defensive end Derrick Harvey from Florida.

With the 9th choice, Cincinnati took LB Keith Rivers from USC.  Then at #10, New England took LB Jerod Mayo from Tennessee.

And just making the 11th pick, Buffalo took Leodis McKelvin, the cornerback out of Troy.

One observation, if you're at home watching on television, ESPN's feed is running roughly 5 to 7 seconds faster than the NFL Network.  So if you want to get the news on your team faster, ESPN is your best spot.

Oh, and always important to the media is mealtime.  A good effort from the chef's at Lambeau Field.  Wraps were the main feature and three kinds of giant homemade cookies that absolutely are to die for.
