Van Hollen wants plug pulled on radio merger

Wisconsin's attorney general says a proposed satellite radio merger is not a good deal for consumers. In fact, J.B. Van Hollen says the merger between satellite radio providers XM and Sirius violates antitrust laws in Wisconsin At this point, it looks as if the monopoly creating merger may be allowed. The U.S. Justice Department has signed off on it, so Van Hollen has sent a letter to FCC chairman Kevin Martin, asking him to review the proposed license transfer between Sirius and XM. Van Hollen says the deal to merge the two is "anti-competitive and anti-consumer."
