Good policy, or shameless pandering? The Wisconsin Petroleum Council is going on the record against a summertime gas tax holiday. The summer gas tax holiday being pushed by presidential hopefuls Hillary Clinton and John McCain is a bad idea, according to the group's Erin Roth. He says the money is needed to fix our roads. "I drive a lot between Madison and Milwaukee, and I'm telling you, it's dangerous if you change lanes with all those potholes," says Roth. "The tax holiday . . . will not solve anything in the long term." And Roth argues it wouldn't mean much financially to consumers.
