Brewers designate Turnbow for assignment

May 2, 2008 By WRN Contributor

Derrick Turnbow Brewers General Manager Doug Melvin and Manager Ned Yost met behind closed doors in Chicago yesterday to discuss Derrick Turnbow's future with the team.  Today, Turnbow was designated for assignment.

The Brewers recalled Joe Dillon from Triple-A Nashville.  He'll be in uniform tonight when the Brewers play the Houston Astros.

Turnbow was a Major League All-Star in 2006, but he's battled control problems ever since.  Turnbow will likely accept a trip back to Triple A Nashville.  If he doesn't, he'll have to forfeit his right to his current salary, which is more than $3-million for this season.
