Ex-cop enters plea deal

May 20, 2008 By WRN Contributor

There's a plea deal in the case of a former Wausau police officer charged with trying to kill his estranged wife . Chueng Lee pleaded no contest this morning in Shawano County court to amended charges of recklessly causing great bodily harm and reckless driving causing great bodily harm.

Lee had been accused of forcing wife Chao into his truck last September and deliberately crashing it into a concrete bridge girder. Judge Thomas Grover announced the plea this morning but did not immediately give a reason why or how Lee reached the deal. There's also no word on when Lee will be sentenced or what kind of sentence he will face.
