Killer to stay put

May 15, 2008 By WRN Contributor

Mark Staskal is not moving to an adult group home on Madison's East Side. A judge decided this week to release Staskal from the Mendota Mental Health Institute in Madison, where Staskal has been staying since being committed for the 1984 killing of his 16-year-old sister. Madison Alderwoman Brenda Konkel says the group home has decided accept take Staskal. The home was just a few blocks away from Lapham Elementary School, and many neighbors expressed concern about the placement.
