Lawmaker's former girlfriend faces charges

May 12, 2008 By WRN Contributor

An ex-girlfriend of State Representative Scott Suder faces 15 felonies and 4 misdemeanors for allegedly using his checkbook and credit cards without permission. According to past reports, Suder went to authorities last fall when he learned Lisa Brabazon, who had been living at his Abbotsford home, accessed his credit cards and checking account without permission and spent over $3,000 of his money. Brabazon denied the claim at the time, saying the two had been dating for two years, and Suder gave her permission to write the checks in question and also gave her his PIN number for his bankcard to get cash.

In October, Suder obtained a temporary restraining order against Brabazon, who also allegedly broke into his house. The case was investigated by the Colby-Abbotsford Police Department. The Marathon County District Attorney is handling the prosecution. On Friday, Assistant District Attorney Lesli Puster filed 15 counts of forgery, a Class H felony, and 4 misdemeanor charges of misusing a credit card. Brabazon is scheduled to make her initial appearance next Thursday in Marathon County Circuit Court.
