Ryan gives "gut check"

May 18, 2008 By WRN Contributor

While speaking to fellow party members at the State GOP convention, Congressman Paul Ryan (R-Janesville) addressed the issue of 2006 election in which Democrats took control of Congress. He notes two years ago the war wasn't going too well and there was a mass of problems with illegal immigrants at the Mexican border.

“In 2006 people didn't wake up in America and declare themselves to be liberal. They woke up and declared themselves to be frustrated.”

He's urging Republicans to offer the American public, concrete solutions. He cited the need to pass Congressman's Jim Sensenbrenner's bill to secure the US borders.

Ryan also announced his new bill called a Road map for America's Future which is designed to make American businesses number one in globalization and secure federal retirement programs.
