Swain Hopes To Find A Spot

May 7, 2008 By WRN Contributor

With the Packers depth at wide receiver, many fans were puzzled when Ted Thompson selected Kansas State wideout Jordy Nelson in the 2nd round of last month's NFL Draft.  More heads scratched when he took another receiver in the 7th round.

That 7th round selection was Brett Swain out of San Diego State.  He wasn't highly scouted in college and wasn't even sure if he'd be drafted but he was happy when the Packers called him in the 7th round.

With Donald Driver, James Jones, Greg Jennings, Ruvell Martin, Koren Robinson, and Jordy Nelson already ahead of him on the depth charts, he knows making the team will be tough, but he'll do his best.
