Brewers face Astros, Weeks to DL

June 10, 2008 By WRN Contributor

The Milwaukee Brewers open a 3-game series in Houston against the Astros tonight.  Seth McClung (3-2) pitches for the Brewers.  Roy Oswalt (4-6) goes for the Astros.

The Brewers placed second baseman Rickie Weeks on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained left knee.

Weeks was hitting .210 in 59 games.  He was injured Friday night in Colorado on a late take-out slide at second base by Colorado's Jeff Baker.  Weeks missed the final two games of the series, then returned to Milwaukee to have the knee examined.

Weeks will be replaced on the roster by Hernan Iribarren from Class AAA Nashville.  Iribarren has played 49 games in Nashville and is hitting .273 with 15 RBI's.
