Brewers fall to Astros in series opener

June 11, 2008 By WRN Contributor

Another road loss for the Milwaukee Brewers , who fell to the Houston Astros 6-1 last night.  The Brewers fell to 1-3 on their current 6-game road trip and 14-21 away from Miller Park overall.

Houston starter Roy Oswalt hadn't won in a month, but last night went seven innings, allowing just one run on five hits and a season high 10 strikeouts.

Brewers starter Seth McClung was the hard luck loser.  He went six innings, allowing two runs on three hits, pitching despite a stomach virus.

Houston's Lance Berkman was the hitting star, clubbing his 19th home run of the season, a 2-run shot.  Berkman then clubbed a bases loaded triple in the 7th, finishing with 5 rbi's.

Ryan Braun hit his 17th of the season to account for the Brewers only run in the 3rd.

Game two of the series is tonight.
