Brewers use long ball to beat Astros

June 13, 2008 By WRN Contributor

The Milwaukee Brewers clubbed four more home runs on Thursday and took the final game of the series from the Astros in Houston, 9-6.

The Brewers remain five games below .500 on the road, but they've won two straight now, getting home runs from Corey Hart, Prince Fielder, Mike Cameron and Gabe Kapler.

The long balls made a winner of Ben Sheets, who improved to 7-1 with the win.  Sheets went 7 innings and struck out 9 in the victory.

The Brewers return to Miller Park tonight to face the Minnesota Twins in an interleague series.

*  The Brewers released pitcher Jeff Weaver from Triple A Nashville.  Since signing in April, Weaver struggled in the minors, going 2-4 with a 6.22 ERA.  The Brewers had to make a decision to either promote him to the big league roster, or release him by this weekend and they didn the latter.
