Deadly shooting in Rothschild

June 17, 2008 By WRN Contributor

Rothschild police are investigating a deadly shooting inside a duplex Monday. Police say a 54-year-old man walked into a duplex with a handgun, shot several times at a woman he knew, then killed himself. Police Chief Bill Schremp says the woman was later airlifted to St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. At least one person witnessed the shooting, which Schremp says remains under investigation.

Authorities are planning an autopsy on the shooter. Police have not released his name or the victim's name as of Tuesday morning.
