Feingold, Kohl endorse Obama

June 4, 2008 By WRN Contributor

Senator Herb Kohl has joined most of Wisconsin's other Democratic leaders in endorsing Barack Obama for president. Now that Obama has clinched his party's nomination, Kohl said Democrats can unite behind an “historic candidacy.”

Earlier today, Wisconsin's other senator – Russ Feingold – firmed up his support for Obama. Kohl and Feingold are both super-delegates to the Democratic National Convention in August. They and other party leaders could vote for anybody they wanted – while other delegates must reflect Wisconsin's primary results from February. Obama won the primary . Once Clinton officially withdraws, she's expected to release her delegates to pick whomever they choose.
