Gagne returns, just not as closer

June 30, 2008 By WRN Contributor

Eric Gagne was taken off the Brewers disabled list this past weekend and will be in uniform when the Brewers open a 4-game series in Arizona against the Diamondbacks tonight.

Gagne will head back to the bullpen, but not as the teams closer.  That job now belongs to Salomon Torres, who is a perfect 12 for 12 in save opportunties since taking over for Gagne.

Gagne has 10 saves for the Brewers, but blew 5 more chances before going down with injury.
