Middleton's Turcott wins spot in US Open field

June 4, 2008 By WRN Contributor

Talk about Sudden Death.  Middleton's Jon Turcott brought new meaning to the word when he needed 9 extra holes to earn the final spot in a sectional qualifier for the U.S. Open next week in San Diego.

The two time Wisconsin State Open champion plays on the Nationwide Tour and is the only Wisconsin golfer to advance to the U.S. Open through sectional qualifying.

Turcott will join Madison golfers Jerry Kelly and Steve Stricker in the U.S. Open field.
