Remains of child found in Sauk Co.

June 6, 2008 By WRN Contributor

A duffel bag containing what appear to be the bones of a young child has been found along a road in Sauk County. The sheriff's department in Baraboo says a deputy recovered the remains after a woman found them along Bunker Road in the Town of Delton Thursday afternoon. The bones have been sent to the state crime lab in Madison for examination. A news release from Chief Deputy Chip Meister states that the cause and manner of death are unknown, as is the length of time the bones may have been along the roadside. Sauk County has no missing person reports that would account for the remains. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sauk County Sheriff's Department .
