State golf down to final day

The final round of the WIAA boys state golf championship will be decided today at University Ridge in Verona.

Appleton East and Arrowhead share the first round team lead, 1-shot better than Fond du Lac.  East's John Anderson is the top individual after day 1, shooting an opening round 69, good for a 1-shot lead.

Appleton Xavier has a 1-shot lead on Madison Edgewood heading to day 2 in Division 2.  Defending champion Green Bay Notre Dame is just 2-shots back.

In division 3, Eleva-Strum has a 9-shot lead on 2nd place Sevastopol.
