Tiger lets everyone in on the pain

June 16, 2008 By WRN Contributor

Tiger Woods will battle Rocco Mediate shortly in a U.S. Open playoff at Torrey Pines in San Diego.  Four days of golf will likely have his surgically repaired knee a little on the sore side.

In fact, Woods spent much of the tournament so far, showing everybody just how sore that knee was.  Especially when teeing off with a driver, Woods would bend over, grab his knee, play to the crowd, and then walk away, sometimes using his driver as a make-shift cane.

Watching Tiger Woods this weekend reminded me of a world cup soccer match when players take dives to try to draw penalties.  The difference is obvious, Tiger's hurt and many times, the soccer players aren't.  But I hope Tiger can make it through today's round with a little less display of pain.

Alright, perhaps I don't have a sympathetic bone in my body.  But he's supposed to be golf's version of Superman.  And while he's at it, Tiger can stop throwing his clubs around like a little kid everytime he hits a bad shot.

Now, suck it up Tiger, or you might get beat by the 158th ranked player in the world.
