Brewers Fall

July 8, 2008 By WRN Contributor

Colorado won their series opener with Milwaukee 4-3 on Monday night.

Ubaldo Jimenez gave up just 3 htis in seven scoreless innings to notch the win while Seth McClung went just 4 and two-thirds to get hung with the loss.

Milwaukee couldnt get any timely hits on Monday, but but got to the Rockies bullpen for three runs in the 8th to make it a game. The big blow was a Prince Fielder 2-run homer.

The Brewers will send CC Sabathia to the hill tonight in game two of the series.

To make room for Sabathia on the roster, Jeff Suppan was placed on the 15-day DL with a right elbow problem.

JJ Hardy was also named the National League Player of the Week.  He hit .600 with 5 doubles, 6 homers, and 12 RBI last week for the Crew.
