Favre May Report To Packers Camp

July 25, 2008 By WRN Contributor

Various media outlets are reporting that Brett Favre is planning on reporting to Packers Training Camp when it opens this weekend.

ESPN is reporting that Favre called GM Ted Thompson on Thursday to say he was going to report to training camp with the rest of the team.  Favre still has to file reinstatement papers and actually reporting to camp most likely would be a ploy to accelerate the trade process as Green Bay most likely won't want him around as a distraction.

ESPN is also reporting that the New York Jets have been given permission to talk with Favre about possibly working out a trade for him. Tampa Bay is also rumored to have interest in the 3-time MVP.

The Packers are set to move into the dorms at St. Norbert College on Saturday, go through physical testing on Sunday, and then hit the practice field for the first time at 8:45am on Monday morning.

If Favre shows up and the team lets him take the field it would be more of a media circus than the whole situation has already become.
