NFL holds off on Favre's reinstatement

July 30, 2008 By WRN Contributor

Mark Murphy NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell didn't rule on Brett Favre's reinstatement to the league today, wanting to give both sides more time to make decisions, including decisions impacting the team's roster and salary cap.

A statement issued by the league office stated that when Brett is reinstated by the commissioner, they'll announce it.

Green Bay Packers team President Mark Murphy (pictured) traveled to Mississippi to meet with Favre and his agent James "Bus" Cook on Wednesday in what appears to be an attempt to talk Favre out of reporting to camp later this week.

Cook told the Hattiesburg (Miss.) American that there's a good chance Favre could be back in Green Bay by Friday.
