The Circus is in town Monday

July 26, 2008 By WRN Contributor

Aaron Rodgers When the Green Bay Packers hit the practice field on Monday, we could see a full blown circus, complete with real clowns (National Media) and everything.

Yes, according to reports, Brett Favre has informed the Packers that he will be reporting with the rest of the team for meetings on Sunday and practice on Monday.

There's no way at this time to know just what that all means.  For example, Favre could be reporting to try to compete for a starting job, although the Packers have already indicated Favre would only back up Aaron Rodgers (pictured).

Favre's reporting could also just be a ploy to force the team to act faster in dealing him elsewhere.  So far, both Tampa Bay and the New York Jets have received permission to talk about a deal with Favre.

And then there's the other possibility.  Favre could change his mind and stay in retirement.  He's been known to change his mind before.

But whatever the motive, there'll be more than just the local media watching on the sideline.  The National people (clowns) will be on hand in full force as well.  And they'll either get a whole lot of Brett Favre, or at the very least, they'll get to cover the start of the Aaron Rodgers era in Green Bay.

I can hardly wait!
