Favre talks at a standstill

August 5, 2008 By WRN Contributor

Brett Favre After more than 5-hours together last night and then for a time again this morning, Brett Favre and the Packers just aren't on the same page.  The two sides are at an impasse and Favre may be looking to leave for Mississippi again soon.

The Packers are scheduled to practice at 2pm this afternoon and Favre isn't expected to be there.

Favre told ESPN that his being on the practice field is a distraction and would continue to be a distraction.  Favre said the Packers once again denied his request to talk to teams in the NFC North Division (Chicago & Minnesota) about a possible trade.

Mike McCarthy cancelled a press conference last night when his discussion with Favre went into overtime.  The Packers said they would try again today, but there's been no word of a newly scheduled press conference.  The coach doesn normally address the media after practice, which would come late this afternoon.
