Fielder leads Brewers to 7th straight win

August 13, 2008 By WRN Contributor

Jeff Suppan Prince Fielder broke a 1-1 tie in the 4th inning with a three-run homer to lead the Milwaukee Brewers to a 5-2 win over the San Diego Padres in their series opener Tuesday night.  It's the 7th straight win for the Brewers, who pulled to within 3-games of the Chicago Cubs for the Central Division lead.  The Cubs were rained out last night and play a day / night doubleheader today.

Jeff Suppan (pictured) allowed 2-runs on 4-hits in 8-innings of work to pick up his 3rd straight win (8-7) and 8th of the year.  The Brewers also opened a 4-game lead on the St. Louis Cardinals in the N.L. wildcard race.
