New Flight for LIfe base

August 5, 2008 By WRN Contributor

Flight For Life.JPG Within five minutes of opening its new hangar at the Fond du Lac County Airport Monday morning, the Flight for Life helicopter got its first call for a patient transport.

“Certainly we could see that we were be used as a resource right away and that made us happy because that's what were there for,” says Flight for Life spokeswoman Claire Rayford.

The decision to put a base in Fond du Lac was based on an analysis and a number of requests they could not respond to in the nearby area.

Rayford says they will mostly provide service to the Fond du Lac area, but will also provide transports for a 50 mile radius.

Flight for Life also has bases in the metro-Milwaukee area and McHenry, Illinois.
