Two dead in Winnebago Co. crash

August 28, 2008 By WRN Contributor

A crash on Highway 41 south of Neenah left two people dead and three others injured. Captain John Matz of the Winnebago County sheriff's department says the accident happened around 4:00 PM Wednesday.

A 20-year-old Appleton man was pronounced dead at the scene, and a 15-year-old Appleton girl died at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center. The driver of the car and another passenger were also taken to Theda Clark with life-threatening injuries. Both are females. The driver of the southbound vehicle, a Red Cross minivan, walked away from the crash and was treated for non-life threatening injuries. The wreck shut down the southbound lanes of Highway 41 for several hours.
