Brewers open final homestand

September 23, 2008 By WRN Contributor

The Milwaukee Brewers woke up this morning trailing the wildcard leading New York Mets by just 1-game.  The Brewers had the day off yesterday, but the Mets were busy losing to the Central Division Champion Cubs 9-5 last night.  Cubs pitcher Jason Marquis did much of the damage, clubbing a grand slam and driving in five runs.  With the win, the Cubs clinched home field advantage throughout the National League playoffs.

The Brewers send Dave Bush to the mound tonight as they open a series against the Pittsburgh Pirates.  The Brewers face the Pirates for three and the Chicago Cubs for three at Miller Park to close out the regular season.
