Polk County nursing home sale hits a snag

September 17, 2008 By WRN Contributor

The on again, off again battle concerning the Polk County Board of Supervisors selling the Golden Age Manor nursing home in Amery took another turn Tuesday, when a Wisconsin Appellate Court ruled the board can't sell the facility. The ruling overturned a Circuit Court decision that said the sale could proceed.

Polk County Board Chair Bryan Bazler says they still have a signed agreement to sell the facility, but members will meet in a special session in two weeks to discuss their options.

Bazler says that, with the budget due in a couple of months, a decision needs to be made soon. However, he was advised by legal council to have no further comment at this time.
