"We won't forget"

September 19, 2008 By WRN Contributor

Today is POW-MIA Recognition Day in Wisconsin, a time to honor a pledge to servicemen and women.

Acting state Veterans Affairs Secretary Ken Black says the day is meant to help the families of soldiers who have gone missing. He says it's also important to reassure soldiers that if something were to happen to them while fighting overseas; we'll do everything possible to bring them home for a proper burial.

More than two dozen Wisconsin servicemen are still missing from the war in Vietnam, and Black says efforts continue to locate their remains.
