Wells is iffy for Monday's opener

September 3, 2008 By WRN Contributor

Scott Wells Green Bay Packers center Scott Wells (pictured) had another setback with his injured lower back after returning to practice this week.  It's put his availability in doubt for the season opener againt Minnesota on Monday night.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy said the team is still gathering information on Wells' injury, but he says it's unfortunate after all the rehab work Wells has put in.  If Wells can't go on Monday night, Jason Spitz would move to center and Tony Moll would likely step in for Spitz at right guard.
