Lawmakers could face many options when the return to the Capitol in January, as they struggle to fill a projected $3 billion hole in the state budget.
Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance President Todd Berry says a tax hike is not out of the question. Even if taxes aren't increased, Berry says money will probably be coming out of our pocketbooks anyway. He says fee increases and one time fixes are still likely solutions.
Governor Doyle says he wants to avoid a general tax increase as the state deals with the deficit. Those feelings have been echoed by lawmakers currently out on the campaign trail.
