Homefront effort

October 21, 2008 By WRN Contributor

With more Wisconsin military personnel headed overseas, a support group is stepping up it's efforts to help. Patti Lokken is communications director for Operation Homefront Wisconsin , which can provide emergency financial support to the families of deployed service members. Lokken says Operation Homefront is looking for businesses which can offer home and auto repairs for free or at reduced rates. In addition, the group is in the midst of a statewide fundraising effort. Operation Homefront has 37 chapters around the nation, including the La Crosse and Southeast Wisconsin regions, although Lokken stresses that help is available to military families anywhere in Wisconsin.
