Melvin & Sveum meeting in Phoenix

October 14, 2008 By WRN Contributor

Milwaukee Brewers general manager Doug Melvin is meeting with Dale Sveum in Phoenix about the team's managerial job.

Sveum was named the interim manager with 12 games left after Ned Yost was fired.  The Brewers went 7-5 during that stretch, but went 6-1 in the final week when they needed to win to get into the playoffs.

Sveum received the endorsement of several players to remain as manager.
