Mob justice leads to murder in Milwaukee

October 29, 2008 By WRN Contributor

A 14-year-old runaway and five other people were cheering on a Milwaukee man as he slit the throat of a homeless victim, according to the criminal complaint against 18-year-old Sean Smith. Smith has been charged with felony murder in the death of 29-year-old Kelly Graf.

According to police, on Wednesday or Thursday of last week, the group attacked Graf because he got a 15-year-old girl drunk, took lewd pictures of her and had sex with her. Officials said the girl was among the crowd that roused Graf from his tent next to a bike path near the Zablocki VA Medical Center. That was just before Graf was killed. A walker from the VA center found the body last Thursday morning.

Smith admitted to authorities he attacked Graf but claims it was a 26-year-old man who fatally shot the victim. The criminal complaint alleges the 26-year-old admitted to a friend, over the phone, to killing someone. Shortly there after he received a tattooed teardrop, a mark that is received after killing.
