Brewers reliever Torres retiring

November 12, 2008 By WRN Contributor

Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Salomon Torres is retiring from baseball.  The 36 year old reliever told the Brewers he wanted to spent more time with his family and faith.

Torres is coming off of one of his best seasons in the majors, going 7-5 with a 3.49 ERA and a career-high 28 saves in 71 relief appearances.

Torres was a veteran of 12 major league seasons, playing for a total of five teams, including the Brewers.
